Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Limber Lumbar.

How does Limber Lumbar decompress the spine?

Limber Lumbar uses gravity itself as the decompression force. You step into the patent-pending harness, which wraps 210° around your torso. As you shift your weight forward and reduce ground contact, your lower body hangs freely, applying up to 60% of your body weight as upward traction on the lumbar spine. This creates the same decompression effect as clinical traction tables, but at home and without electricity.

Is this safe for my back condition?

Limber Lumbar is designed for adults with general lumbar discomfort, disc compression, or those seeking preventive daily decompression. We recommend consulting your physician or physical therapist before use if you have had recent spinal surgery, fractures, osteoporosis, or a diagnosed herniation. The device is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition.

What is the weight capacity?

The Limber Lumbar is load-tested to 300 lb (136 kg). The structural frame and harness system have been validated well beyond this rating to provide a wide safety margin. If you are near the capacity limit, we recommend starting at the lowest decompression intensity level.

How long should each session be?

For new users, we recommend starting with 2 to 3 minutes at the lowest intensity (both feet on the step platform). Most users progress to 5 to 10 minute daily sessions at their preferred intensity level within two weeks. Listen to your body and never force through discomfort.

Does it require electricity or assembly?

No electricity, no motors, no ongoing costs. The device ships partially assembled with included hardware. Assembly requires roughly 30 to 45 minutes and two people. Step-by-step instructions are included, and video guides will be available on our website.

What is the patent status?

Limber Lumbar has US and International Patents Pending covering the X-strap harness configuration, the radially-inward cushion distribution system, and the integrated step platform. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of the design is prohibited.

What is your return and warranty policy?

We offer a 30-day return window for unused, unassembled units in original packaging. If you have assembled and used the device, we handle returns case-by-case. All units include a 1-year limited warranty covering structural components and harness hardware against manufacturing defects. Contact us at support@limberlumbar.com.

How does this compare to an inversion table?

Inversion tables work by flipping you upside down, which decompresses the spine but also increases blood pressure in the head and eyes, a concern for many people. Limber Lumbar keeps you fully upright. Your head is never below your heart. The decompression is isolated to the lumbar region via the harness, with no head, neck, or ankle pressure.
